Bernie has been with Securitas USA and its predecessor companies
since 1972. In his current position since 1998, Bernie has
served in a number of management positions, including Sales and
Service Manager, Vice President/General Manager of Chicago
operations and Vice President, Operations of the Midwest U.S.
A Certified Protective Professional (CPP) since 1982, Bernie
earned a B.A. degree from Loyola University of Chicago, and is a
graduate of the National Crime Prevention Institute, University
of Louisville.
Throughout his security career, Bernie has been involved in many
security-related associations, including the following:
– Member, Quarter Century Club, ASIS International
– Member, Private Security Officer Selection and Training
Guideline Committee, ASIS International
– Member, CPP Examination Item Development Group, ASIS
International
– Past President and Board Chairman, Associated Detectives and
Security Agencies of Illinois
– Past President, Associated Guard and Patrol Agencies of
Illinois
– Member, International Association of Security and
Investigative Regulators
– Member, Special Agents Association
Bernie is licensed by the State of Illinois as a Private
Security Contractor, Private Alarm Contractor and Private
Detective. For eleven years, he served on the Private Detective,
Private Security, Private Alarm and Locksmith Board of the State
of Illinois, Department of Financial and Professional
Regulation. For the last four of those years, he served as the
Chairperson of the Board.
In 2000, the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, Public
and Private Police Liaison Committee, honored Bernie for his
outstanding service and significant contribution to the cause of
law enforcement in the State of Illinois. In 2004, the
Associated Detectives and Security Agencies of Illinois
presented Bernie with its Charles Wessel Lifetime Achievement
Award.
